Sports and Athleticism growing up

Growing up, I had an active childhood and started playing team sports in middle and high school including Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer (i mean Football...don't attack me), and competitive swimming after the coach I had been training with solo since the age of 9 asked me to join his swim team. It was the best thing I did for myself athletically, and I attribute my sense of discipline and any athleticism to the sport of swimming. Although I improved and got to a point where I was happy with how I felt, I, unfortunately, had to stop swimming at the age of 16 to focus on IB and getting into college. However, functional training has been the center of my sports training, focusing more on what the body can DO rather than how the body LOOKS.

CrossFit

I was introduced to the sport of CrossFit on my 19th birthday in May of 2019 by a very close friend (By far my favorite birthday up until now). I liked that it reminded me of land training when I used to train in competitive swimming. Soon after a few sessions, I fell in love with it. On my blog I will talk more about improving my athleticism, how this sport enforces my discipline, and what this all means for an athlete and for me personally on my pathway to professional healthcare.

PS. I am a huge Tia Toomey fangirl.
